Here at The Merry Hooker Woolens we are well-known for our extensive collection of hand dyed primitive and muted colors of rug hooking wool. But it's time to expand our horizions and welcome brighter colors into the fold. I've been working on a brighter palette for some time now & will be adding more wonderful and brilliant colors as I get them photographed. Think sun-drenched tropical flora, cool jungles, exotic fauna and vast expanses of fresh open waters. You're going to love these!
~~~~~~ ~~~ Rug Hooking Patterns ~~~ Be sure to take a look at our delightful line of patterns from Martina Lesar Designs and Primitive Spirit by Karen Kahle. Many are available as kits with our fabulous hand dyed wools. Check out the Patterns page....you may just find a great Summer hooking project. New product additions for 2009.... a new category in the Hand Dyed Woolens section for spot dyes, heavily mottled pieces and marbleized wools, delightful new rug hooking patterns from Annetiques, Hartman Hooks, Cushing's Dyes and a great basic collapsible rug hooking frame. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area (or, if you're coming for a visit) and would like to arrange a shopping trip to my studio, just send me an email with your contact information and we can make an appointment. My studio is located in the historic Jack London Waterfront District of Oakland, California.....make a day of it, have a nice lunch and shop for great wool! (Please note that the studio is open by appointment only....The Merry Hooker Woolens is a private studio & not a retail storefront.) You're also welcome to join other hookers at our casual hook-in on the last Saturday of every month from 11:00 to 3:00 PM. Bring your project and your lunch and get ready to relax, visit and hook. All levels of experience, from novice to expert, are welcome.
