Hand Dyed Woolens for Rug Hooking ~~ Hand Dyed Woolens ~~~ The Merry Hooker Woolens offers an extensive selection of colors hand dyed over the finest 100% woolens available. You’ll love the variety of textures, plaid and stripes we use in our over dyed wools. Each piece is personally and lovingly dyed by The Merry Hooker. After dyeing, the wool is soaked in our eucalyptus & lanolin fine wool wash and then dried in the dryer. This process gives our woolens a luscious softness that will be a pleasure for you to work with. Our woolens come to you ready to use with no additional processing necessary. When placing your order you will also have the option to have us cut your wool into strips for rug hooking. The work’s all done; you just get the fun! ~~~ Measurements for Hand Dyed Woolens ~~~We sell most of our hand dyed woolens as a bundle of two 1/8 yard textures totaling a fat ¼ yard of wool. A few colors are sold as single fat ¼ yard pieces. We also offer several ¾ yard texture bundles which are terrific for backgrounds. Measurements before dyeing: 1/8 yard = 18” long by approximately 15” wide1/4 yard = 18” long by approximately 30” wide Please keep in mind that these measurements are taken before the wool is dyed. The dyeing process generally shrinks the wool 5% to 10%.
